Dutch largest pension scheme ABP has reaffirmed its commitment to circular economy as the current week is dedicated to the theme in the Netherlands. The pension fund has unveiled four of the circular economy companies it invests in, starting with French company Ecore Group, which is present all along the recycling chain, from end-of-life material collection to the marketing of new secondary raw materials.

Another French recycling company that ABP holds in portfolio is Paprec, which has processed 12 million tons of waste throughout 2020.

Irish manufacturer of carton packaging Smurfit Kappa forms another play of the Dutch pension scheme. The company is recycling cardboard and paper. As a result, 75% of the raw material for the cardboard comes from recycled fibers.

Lastly, ABP disclosed a fourth stock, German firm Befesa, that recycles steel dust and aluminum salt slag, a residual product from aluminum production among others.
