Norway plans to tap its sovereign wealth fund like never before

The government plans a record withdrawal from the fund to close its budget.

The Norwegian government has just broken its piggy bank open. To fund its budget including post-pandemic stimulus measures, it plans to withdraw NOK 433.2bn (€40bn) from its sovereign-wealth fund in 2020, an unprecedented amount.
