27 May 2019 marked the official launch of Asset News within the English-speaking European investment media landscape. Among all articles published since that date, the interview of Terry Duffy, chairman and chief executive officer of global futures exchange CME Group, topped the rankings.

Swiss financial group Pictet setting up a branch in the Principality of Monaco and a feature on the football debt niche asset class complete the top three of the most read articles this year on our website. Another interview, that of Ed Louis, lead analyst of Cerulli Associates' report US Intermediary Distribution 2019: Capitalizing on Specialization and the French asset management association AFG arguing for ESG disclosure standards came in fourth and fifth rank respectively.

The sixth rank is filled by a Swedish story, namely Nordic financial group SEB and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) having invested SEK 26m (€2.46m) in Combient mix to build a full-scale artificial intelligence (AI) hub and how it could boost the region's digital transformation. A fintech acquisition-related feature took the seventh position, that of Moody's acquisition of RiskFirst last July to extend its risk solutions to institutional investors.

In the three last spots of the top ten most read articles on Asset News in 2019 lie H2O AM's response to liquidity issues, Moody's concerns around the high yield bond market and the interview of Better Finance managing director Guillaume Prache on data, regulation and the definition of long-term investing.
