Valérie Baudson awarded L'Agefi’s 2019 AM Leader prize
Valérie Baudson, chief executive officer of CPR AM and also in charge of ETFs, index & smart beta strategies at Amundi, was awarded the 2019 AM Leader prize on 27 November. The prize was handed out at the Grande Soirée of Asset Management held in Paris by L'Agefi, featuring the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire as special guest.
Awarded for the fourth year, the AM Leader prize distinguishes a figure whose career has stood out from the others in the French asset management industry, but who is also likely to leave a mark the entire sector through his/her new achievements. To choose the winner, Agefi’s editorial staff first short-listed six nominees, who were then put to a vote by the subscribers to the group’s various publications. The previous winners were Yves Choueifaty (Tobam) in 2016, Karine Szenberg (Schroders) in 2017, and the co-founders of Sycomore AM – Cyril Charlot, Christine Kolb and Emeric Préaubert – last year.
Valérie Baudson tookover the reins of CPR AM in spring 2016 after successfully developing Amundi’s ETF capacities. Under her leadership, CPR AM experienced renewed growth in inflows, which now amount to about €50bn.
The Grande Soirée of Asset Management was also an opportunity to recognise those funds that had created the most alpha. For this 20th edition, 13 Asset Management Grand Prizes were awarded: seven in equities, two in diversified investments, and four in bonds. A full report on the Grande Soirée, produced in partnership with SIX, can be found in the L’Agefi Hebdo of 28 November.
