Sabadell and BBVA stop merger talks
The two Spanish banking groups Banco Sabadell and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) have ceased their discussions in relation to a potential merger transaction. The companies said the parties have not achieved an agreement on the exchange ratio of both entities. They were negotiating since 16 November. A merger would have formed the second largest banking group in Spain with about €600bn in assets under management.
