Equity veteran Virginie Maisonneuve joins AllianzGi as global CIO equity
The investment arm of German insurer Allianz, Allianz Global Investors, has hired Virginie Maisonneuve as global chief investment officer for its equity unit. She succeeds Steve Berexa who will retire at the end of 2021.
Maisonneuve will move back to London, relocating from Singapore this autumn. As head of equity management and chief investment officer for equities, she will report to AllianzGI's global CIO Deborah Zurkow.
A 30-year experienced equity investment professional, Maisonneuve held several high-profile roles at Schroders, including global head of equities, and Pimco, such as deputy chief investment officer and global head of equities. She most recently served as CIO at Eastpring before founding MGA Consulting in 2020. Maisonneuve had also worked at State Street Research, Clay Finlay, Batterymarch, and Martin Currie in various locations across the globe.
AllianzGI manages €160bn in assets under equity strategies on behalf of retail and institutional clients.
