GAM investment boss exits

The Swiss group's investment head Matthew Beesley will not be replaced.

Swiss asset manager GAM has announced the departure of Matthew Beesley, group head of investments and member of the group management board.

Beesley, who joined the firm in June 2017, will not be replaced as group head of investments. The heads of the systematic and solutions and of the discretionary investment groups will take over his duties.

As for Beesley's responsibilities for front office controls and trading, they will be assumed by GAM chief operating officer. It is understood Beesley will continue to work over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities.
