The Dutch pension scheme PGGM, which serves workers of the local healthcare and welfare sector, has appointed Geraldine Leegwater as its new chief investment management. Leegwater, who is joining from Dutch largest pension fund ABP, will take up her new duties on 1 November 2020. She is currently chairing ABP's investment committee and sitting on the pension fund's board. She formerly worked in various Dutch pension funds including that of Dutch banking group ABN Amro where she was CEO and CIO for the group's pension fund. Leegwater succeeds Eloy Lindeijer, who is leaving PGGM on 1 October after a nine-year stint with the pension scheme. PGGM managed €252bn in assets as of end 2019.
