Preqin names ESG head to meet rising investor demands
Data provider Preqin is the latest to appoint Jaclyn Bouchard as its head of ESG, based at its London headquarters, even as the company ramps up its efforts to provide ESG data for private markets.
Bouchard had previously at S&P Global for 10 years, donning several sustainability-related roles and most recently spearheading the development of its ESG products. In her new role at Preqin, she would be responsible for developing ESG product suite as well as working with external stakeholders to support the rapidly changing ESG reporting landscape in the alternatives industry.
As ESG investing gets increasing investor attention, regulators too are creating sustainability and ESG departments to bolster supervision in this area. Earlier this year, the European Central Bank (ECB) had created a climate change centre and appointed Irene Heemskerk, former De Nederlands Bank official to head it. British regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), appointed Sacha Sadan, formerly the director of investment stewardship at Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM), as the director of ESG, in a newly created role.
