Stress test reveals resilience in EU central counterparties (CCPs)

The EU regulator European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) conducted its third stress test on European Central Counterparties (CCPs), confirming the overall resilience to common shocks, multiple defaults for credit, liquidity and concentration stress risks.

ESMA revealed that the credit stress test highlighted differences in resilience between CCPs under selected market stress scenario, though no systemic risk has been identified.
